Lieutenant Colonel Willard W. Hawke served as Company Commander with the 275th Infantry Regiment and the 15th Infantry Regiment in Europe during World War II. He was Company Commander of the 25th Replacement Company in Japan and Commanding Officer of Special Troops, and Headquarters Commandant in Trieste. He is a graduate of the Infantry Officer Advanced Course and the Command and General Staff College. | Subsequent duty assignments include: Civil Affairs Officer with the Fukui Civil Affairs Team, Japan; Operations Officer and G2 of the Berlin Command; Battalion Commander with the 350th Infantry Regiment, Salzburg, Austria; and an Instructor in the Tactical Department, U.S. Army Infantry School. | Lieutenant Colonel Hawke's awards and decorations include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Silver Star w/1 Oak Leaf Cluster, the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star w/2 Oak Leaf Clusters and V Device, the Air Medal, the Purple Heart w/2 Oak Leaf Clusters and the Korean Presidential Unit Citation.
