Description

Colonel Wilbur L. Pate, Sr. served as a Corporal then a Sergeant in the Pacific during World War II. He was commissioned an Infantry Officer upon graduation from Officer Candidate School class 115-42, 2 December 1944. After commissioning, Colonel Pate served with the 32nd Division in the Philippines and in Japan under General Douglas MacArthur. | His subsequent duty assignments include: Instructor, Command and General Staff College, 416th USAR School, Beaumont, Texas; Assistant Commandant, 4161st United States Army Reserve School, Beaumont, Texas; Commandant, 4161st United States Army Reserve School, Beaumont, Texas. Colonel Pate was promoted to the rank of Colonel in 1970 and retired in 1975.
