Wayne J. Moe
Description
Colonel Wayne J. Moe was called to active federal service with the 34th Infantry Division, Minnesota National Guard, in 1941. He attended OCS and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant of Infantry in June 1942. His principal duty assignments include service in Europe in World War II as a rifle company commander and service in the Korean War 1951-1952 with the 9th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Division in various assignments; instructor, Combined Arms Branch, Army Medical Service School 1954-1957; Command of the 3rd Armored Rifle Battalion, 50th Infantry in Germany 1958-1960; Investigations Branch, DA IG 1960-1964; U.S. Army Attache, Finland 1965-1968; PMS 1968-1970; and Assistant Deputy Senior Advisor I Corps (ARepublic of Vietnam), Vietnam 1970-1971. | Colonel Moe has a BS degree from the University of Maryland and attended the Command and General Staff College. | His awards and decorations include: the Combat Infantryman Badge 2nd Award, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star w/2 oak leaf Clusters and V device, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal with oak leaf Cluster, Purple Heart and various other U.S. service medals and foreign decorations.
