His first duty assignment was Assistant S2, 1st Battalion, 29th Field Artillery Regiment, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colorado. | His subsequent duties include: Intelligence Liaison Officer and Ground Surveillance Radar Platoon Leader, 102d Military Intelligence, 2d Infantry Division, South Korea; Collection Operations Officer, Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), Washington, D.C.; United States Army Foreign Area Officer Program for Russian, DIA; Defense Language Institute (Russian), Monterey, California; Russian Institute at Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany; Brigade S2, 3rd Brigade and later G2 Plans Officer, 3d Infantry Division, Germany; Commander, A Company and later Battalion S3, 18th Military Intelligence Battalion, 66th Military Intelligence Brigade, Germany; Political – Military Planner, J5 Strategic Plans and Policy Directorate, Joint Staff, Pentagon; Commander, 524th Military Intelligence Battalion, 501st Military Intelligence Brigade, South Korea; G2, 1st Armored Division, Germany; CJ2, NATO’s Kosovo Force (KFOR); Commander, 66th Military Intelligence Group, Germany; G2, United States Army Europe (USAREUR); Director, Joint Intelligence and Operations Center - Afghanistan (JIOC-A), Deputy CJ2, International Security Assistance Force – Afghanistan, and later J2, Unites States Forces – Afghanistan; Director of Military Support, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA); Director of Operations, United States Army Cyber Command, Fort Belvoir, Virginia; United States Senior Defense Official and Military Attaché to the Russian Federation. | His military education and training includes: United States Army Ranger and Airborne Schools, the Military Intelligence Officers Basic and Advanced Courses, Defense Intelligence Agency’s Post Graduate Intelligence Program, United States Army Russian Institute, United States Army Command and Staff College and the United States Naval War College.
