Captain Lyle J. Bouck, Jr. was commissioned an Infantry Officer upon graduation from Officer Candidate School Class #57, 26 August 1942. His first duty assignment was an Instructor at Fort Benning. | His subsequent duty assignments include: After graduation from Officer Candidate School he remained an instructor for two years at Fort Benning. He next was assigned to Fort Hood and then to Camp Maxey at Paris, Texas, before serving with the 99th Infantry Division in Europe. He returned 1 July 1945, was a patient at O’Reilly General Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, and delivered Victory Bond speeches. Last six months of his duty were C.O., Army Recruiting Office, Cape Girardeau, Missouri. | Captain Bouck separated from the service 31 December 1946. He entered college and served the next three years back in the 138th Infantry Regiment.
