Colonel DeLloyd Voorhees, Jr. was commissioned as Infantry Officer upon graduation from Officer Candidate School Class #65-6, 16 October 1969. His first duty assignments was at the 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Devens, Massachusetts. | His subsequent duty assignments include: Advisor to a Regional Forces Infantry Battalion, IV Corps, then Aide-de-Camp to the Corps Commander; Command and Staff positions, 3rd Battalion, 7th Infantry, 197th Infantry Brigade, Fort Benning, Georgia; Command and Staff positions, 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry, 1st Infantry Division (Forward) and as an Assistant G3 Operations in Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Infantry Division (Forward); Combat Developer, Trainer, and Prototype Team Chief, Army Training Battle Simulation System, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas; Research and Development Coordinator and Executive Officer for the Technical Director, Army’s Strategic Defense Command, Huntsville, Alabama; Manager for Ballistic Missile Space Payloads, Cape Canaveral Air force Base; Manager for Training Devices, Simulation, Training and Instrumentation Command, Orlando, Florida; Program Executive Officer for Special Programs, Director for Research and Development, and Principal Deputy to the Special Operations Command Acquisition Executive, MacDill Air Force Base, Florida. | At the time of his induction, Colonel Voorhees was Vice President of Training for Jardon and Howard Technologies, Inc.
