The Honorable Francis M. Bator was commissioned an Infantry Officer upon graduation from Officer Candidate School, 20 January 1945. His first duty assignment was as Platoon Leader, Company A, 15th Battalion, 4th Training Regiment, IARTC, Camp Gordon, Georgia. | His subsequent duty assignments include: World War II service; Storage Officer, Base X, Medical Depot, Manila, Philippine Islands; Consultant to the Under-Secretary for Economics Affairs; Consultant to the Office of the Secretary of Treasury; U.S. Member, United Nations Consultant Group on Economic Projections; Member, President’s Advisory Committee on International Monetary Arrangements; Special Consultant to the Secretary of the Treasury; U.S. Member, United Nations Expert Group on International Monetary Arrangements; Democratic Advisory council of Elected Officials, Member, Foreign Affairs Task Force, and Chairman, North Atlantic Study Group. | At the time of his induction Mr. Bator was serving as Lucius N. Littauer Professor of Political Economy, John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts.
