Harold G. Quackenbush

Description

Colonel Harold G. Quackenbush rose from Platoon Leader to Division Advisor for the Chinese Army during World War II. He left active duty as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1947, and re-entered in 1948 as a Major. In 1950, he accepted reduction in rank to Captain for completive tour for a Regular Commission. He attained the rank of Colonel (RA) in 1963 and commanded the 171st Infantry Brigade (Mech). Colonel Quackenbush attended SOAC, USCM Senior Course, equivalent of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and the United States Army War College. Some of Colonel Quackenbush's other assignments include G-3 Section USCONARC, Fort Monroe, Virginia, Battalion Commander 1st Armored Division, Fort Hood, Texas, Battalion Commander; 2nd Battalion, 40th Mt Battalion, Korea. | Colonel Quackenbush's decorations include: the Bronze Star w/Oak Leaf Cluster, Combat Infantryman Badge, Army Commendation Medal w/ 2 Oak Leaf Clusters.
