Description

Major Generall James L. Baldwin served as Platoon Leader and Regimental S-2 in the 395th Infantry, 1943-1945. During this period, he rose to the rank of Major and saw combat in the European Theater of Operations. | His subsequent duty assignments include: Assistant Division G-3, 1st Infantry Division in Germany in 1947; Wisconsin National Guard from 1948-1950; USAIS Student Advanced Course at Fort Benning in 1951. Staff Officer, Lieutenant Colonel, Management Division, TAGO, in Washington, D.C. from 1952-1954  In 1955, he attended the Regular Student Course, CGSC, at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. 1956, he served as Battalion Commander and Division G-1, 24th Infantry Division, Korea.  1957-1958, he attended the Student Graduate Course in International Relations, Columbia University. 1959-1961, Colonel Baldwin served as Staff Officer, Directorate of Plans and Policy, ODCSOPS, Department of the Army. | Colonel Baldwin's awards and decorations include: the Bronze Star Medal.
