Lieutenant Colonel Gregory K. Gandy was commissioned as an Infantry Officer upon graduation from Officer Candidate School, Class 13-70, 5 June 1970. Upon receiving his commission, he attended the U.S. Army Rotary Wing Qualification Course. Lieutenant Colonel retired in July 1991 after Desert Storm. After his military retirement he served with the Walton County Sheriff’s Office as a Captain and Commander of the Southern District of Walton County. He also served five years as an enlisted man, reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant, E-6, prior to OCS and served combat tours with the 101st Airborne Division and the Special Forces.
