COL (Ret.) Sam Boone
Chaplain
Sam Boone is a graduate of OCS Class 2 – 74. Served as an enlisted Soldier in the Signal
Corps. Commissioned a Lieutenant of Infantry. Sam served with the 101st Airborne (Air Assault) Division as an AH-1G “Cobra Pilot.”
Upon completion of Seminary, he returned to active duty as a chaplain, culminating with service as the Command Chaplain for the United Nations Command, US Forces Korea, and US 8th Army in the Republic of
Korea (2003-2008). His final posting was as Commandant, US Army Chaplain Center and School, Fort Jackson, SC (2008-2010).
Sam serves as the Deputy Command Chaplain for the South Carolina State Guard and conducts Graveside Honors of the remains of ‘unclaimed Veterans.’ He is the current Chaplain for the US Army OCS Alumni
