Colonel Robert B. Evans was commissioned an Infantry Officer upon graduation from Officer Candidate School Class 36-52 on 13 November 1952. His first duty assignment was as a Team Leader, 20th Detachment and 5th Company, 10th Special Forces Group Airborne, Fort Bragg, North Carolina and Bad Tolz, Germany. | His subsequent duty assignments include:  Committee Chief, 508th Airborne Battle Group, 101st Airborne Division; Executive Officer, 327th Airborne Battle Group, 101st Airborne Division; Commander, Company D, 1st Battle Group, 28th Infantry, 1st Infantry Division; S-3 and Executive Officer, 2d Battalion, 28th Infantry, 1st Infantry Division; Regimental Advisor and G-3 Advisor, 25th Army of Vietnam Division; Chief, Handbook & Analysis, Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA); Executive Officer, Soviet Area Office, DIA; Commander, 3d Battalion, 8th Infantry, 4th Infantry Division; Chief, Current Intelligence, USARV; Liaison Officer, U.S. Military Liaison Mission to Group of Soviet Forces, Germany; Division Chief, Deputy Chief of Staff Operations and Training, Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC); and owner of Evans Realty Associates, Inc. of Stowe, Vermont.
