Lieutenant Colonel Peter F. Verga was commissioned an Officer upon Graduation from Officer Candidate School. He served with distinction in a variety of command, operational and management positions, including combat service in Vietnam from September 1969 to November 1971. Lieutenant Colonel Peter F. Verga served as Chief of Staff and Senior Career Official for the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy and as the first assistant to the Principal Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Policy. | His military awards and decorations include: the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medals w/ 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, Purple Heart, Defense Meritorious Service Medals w/ 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Medals (Numeral 20), and the Presidential Service Badge.
