Description

Lieutenant Colonel Paul W. Heidt served as Weapons Platoon Leader, Company K, 13th Infantry, 8th Infantry Division, Fort Jackson, South Carolina 1941-1942. 1943-1945, he became CO in the 13th Infantry, Northern Ireland, Normandy and Europe. Colonel Heidt was separated from Active Duty, December 1945 to 12 January 1951. During this period, he served in the Reserve and National Guard. January 1951, he served as ORC Unit Instructor, Alabama Military District. 1952-1954, he served as Adjutant, 7806th and 7811th Army Units, USAREUR, Wurzburg, Germany. 1955, he served as Battalion S-3, 351st Infantry, Fort Rucker, Alabama. 1956 he was a student at Fort Benning, Georgia. 1957 he served with the 24th Infantry Division as Assistant Chief of Staff, Korea. 1958-1961, he served as Budget and Fiscal Officer USAIS Operations Office, Fort Benning, Georgia. In 1962, Colonel Heidt attended the Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
