Lieutenant Colonel Loyd Tallent served as a Platoon Leader and subsequently as a Company Executive Officer, a Company Commander and a Battalion Executive Officer with the 60th Infantry Regiment, 9th Infantry Division. While assigned to the 9th Infantry Division, his unit participated in the North African Campaign, the Sicilian Campaign and completed six other campaigns prior to the end of World War II in Europe. | His other duty assignments include: Battalion Commander, 14th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division, Korea; Senior Army Advisor, United States Army Advisor Group, Austin, Texas; Executive Officer, Yucon Command, Alaska; Executive Officer, United States Army Infantry Center Troop Command. | Lieutenant Colonel Tallent is a graduate of the Command and General Staff College. | His awards and decorations include: the Silver Star w/ Oak Leaf Cluster, the Bronze Star Medal, the Purple Heart w/3 Oak Leaf Clusters and the Combat Infantryman Badge.
