Lorenzo E. Fesler

Colonel  Lorenzo E. Fesler was born in Sharon, Pennsylvania 21 October 1942. After attending Pennsylvania Military College for two years, he withdrew and joined the United States Army as an enlisted man. | Upon completion of basic combat training, advanced individual training and the officer candidate school, he was commissioned a Lieutenant of Infantry on 11 September 1963. He completed his education while in service obtaining Bachelor of General Studies and Master of Arts degrees in Sociology from the University of Nebraska, Omaha. His military education includes completion of the Infantry Officer Advanced Course and Organizational Effectiveness Training Course. He has been awarded Constructive Credit for attendance at the Command and General Staff College. | He has held a wide variety of command and staff positions culminating in his current assignment as Director, Tactical Engagement Simulation. Other key assignments held recently include the Commander, 2d Battalion, 87th Infantry (Mechanized), 8ID(M), USAREUR, Deputy Committee Chief, Division Operations Committee, Department of Tactics, USACGSC, Fort Leavenworth KS and Deputy G-1, ACS Per, V Corps, USAEUR. | Colonel Fesler served in a variety of career building assignments preparatory to his most recent duties. He commanded an airborne company in the 3d Battalion, 325 Infantry (Airborne), Fort Bragg, NC, a light infantry company in the 4th Battalion, 9th Infantry (Manchu), Republic of Vietnam, and a headquarters company in the 1st Brigade, 25th Infantry Division, Republic of Vietnam. He has served as a Secretary General Staff, Operations Readiness Officer, Assessor/Counselor, Leadership Instructor, and an Organizational Effectiveness Staff Officer. | Awards and decorations which Colonel Fesler has received include: the Silver Star, the Bronze Star w/1 Oak Leaf Cluster, the Purple Heart, the Meritorious Service Medal w/2 Oak Leaf Cluster, Combat  Infantryman Badge. | His family consists of his 17-year old son, Lorenzo III, and their dog, Secundo.
