Lieutenant Colonel Julian P. Stadtler began his commissioned career as a Platoon Leader at Camp Wolters, Texas, in 1943. He served as a Platoon Leader with the 69th Infantry Division, Camp Shelby, Mississippi 1943, 25th Infantry Division Pacific Theater of Operations 1944. | He was promoted to First Lieutenant in 1945 while serving as Administrative Officer, Historical Division SSUSA Washington D.C. He was promoted to Captain in 1946, and was Editor Historical Division, 1946-1948, and was Washington D.C. Intelligence Officer G-2 Section Far East Command, Tokyo, Japan, 1949-1952. He was promoted to the grade of Major in 1953 while serving with the Office, Chief of Staff United States Army Chief Production Division, Pentagon, Washington D.C. during the period 1953-1955, 522d M1 Battalion Berlin, Germany 1956-1958 during this tour was assigned duties with the United States Forces in Lebanon. Promoted to Lieutenant Colonel 1960 while serving with the 63rd Artillery Group, New Britain, Connecticut 1960-1961. | Lieutenant Stadtler's awards and decorations include: the Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal w/pendant, Philippine Presidential Citation and the Combat Infantryman Badge.
