Colonel Joseph K. Wilson, Jr.received his Commission in the Infantry in 1970 upon graduation from Officers Candidate School at Fort Benning, Georgia. He was a member of the Special Forces Branch and a member of the Army Acquisition Corp. | Prior to assuming command of the Defense Contract Management Area Operations Baltimore, his assignments included Commander, Defense Contract Management Operations Clearwater, Director of Technical Contract Management Office, Office of the Secretary of the Army, The Pentagon, and a staff officer of 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, Korea. Colonel Wilson also commanded units in Vietnam and Okinawa, Japan. | Colonel Wilson's military education and training includes: the Armed Forces Staff College, the Command and General Staff College, the Defense System Management College, and he was selected to attend the Senior Service College in 1994. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Campbell University and a Master’s Degree in Contract and Procurement Management and an MBA from Florida Institute of Technology. | His awards and decorations include: the Bronze Star Medal with V device and two Oak Leaf Clusters, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Medal, the Army Commendation Medal with V device and six Oak Leaf Clusters, Combat Infantryman Badge, General Staff Identification Badge and the Special Forces Tab.
