John W. Dye III

Colonel John W. Dye, III was commissioned an Infantry Officer upon graduation from Officer Candidate School Class 1-68 on 15 January 1968. His first duty assignment was as Assistant S-4, 2d Bde, 6th Infantry Division, Fort Campbell, Kentucky. | His subsequent duty assignments included: Aviation Sect Commander, 175th Avn Company, Vinh Loalg, Vietnam; Motor Officer, A Company and HHC Commander, 2-48 Inf Bn, Gielnhausen, Germany; Tactics Instructor, USAIS, Fort Benning, Georgia; CSC Commander and S3, 1-30 Inf, Schwinfurt, Germany;  Public Affairs Off, 82d Abn Div, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; XO, 1-504 Inf (Abn) 82d Abn Div, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Battalion Commander, 1-325 Inf (Abn), 82nd Abn Div, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Public Affairs Off, V Corps, Frankfurt; Public Affairs Off, U.S. SOCOM, MacDill Air Force Base, Florida; and Public Affairs Officer, U.S. Special Operations Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Florida .
