Colonel Jesse W. Walls graduated Infantry OCS Class l, September 1941. His subsequent assignments were: 1941 - Assigned to Co. A, as TAC Officer, Second Lieutenant; 1942 - 2d. Stu. Tng. Regiment, First Lieutenant; TAC Officer, Transferred to 18th Co, 2d STR in OCS Expansion Program; 1943 - 542d Parachute Inf. Co., Captain, CO, Co B, 542 Parachute Inf., Fort Benning; 1944 - 509th Parachute Bn., Captain, CO, Joined 509th Parachute Bn. in Italy as CO, Co. C; jumped with Bn. in S. France, wounded, then moved to Ardennes Bulge; 1945 - Various Hospitals, Captain, Patient, Wounded in January 1945, at St. Vith, Belgium. 1946 - Inf. Sch. Det., Captain, CO, Released from Hosp, in April 1946, and assigned to Co H, (Abn), ISD.  1947 - Inf. Sch. Det., Captain, CO.,  1948 - 188th Parachute Inf., Capt., Bn. S3, Joined 2d Bn., 188th Parachute Inf. at Sendai, Japan. 1949 - 188th Parachute Inf. and 17th Inf., Captain, Regimental S3 and 19S2, remained with 7th Inf. Div. when 11th Abn Div., moved to USA in Apr 1949.  1950 - 17th Inf. Regiment., Major, Regimental S2, moved with 7th Inf. Div., to Korea in Aug 1950;  Inchon-Yalu River- Hungnam. 1951 - 7th Inf. Div., Major , Asst. Div. G2., Rotated to USA in May 195l; joined G2 Sec., Headquarters. Third U.S. Army; 1952 -1953, Headquarters; Third U.S. Army, Major , Army G2 Section , Chief of Opns. & Tng. Br. , Graduated Gen. Staff. Cse.  1954 - Army Language School, Lieutenant Col, Student, Arrived in Caracas, Venezuela, Oct 54.  1955 - 56, USARMIS, Venezuela, Lieutenant Col., Advisor, Advisor to National War College of Venezuela. Retained on AD over 20  years on 5% list.  1957 - U.S. Army Inf. Sch., Lieutenant Col., Abn., Air Bob. Dept.  Chairman, Doctrine & Requirements Committee. 1958 - 1959, U.S. Army Inf. Center, Lieutenant Col., G3 Section, chief, Training Division. | His awards and decorations include: the Bronze Star Medal w/Oak Leaf Cluster, PH w/Oak Leaf Cluster, Dist. Unit Citation and Belgium Fourragere, Combat Infantryman Badge 2nd Award and Master Parachute Badge.
