His first duty assignment was as Team Leader, Company D, 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne), 1st Special Forces, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. | His subsequent duty assignments include; Executive Officer, A 106, Company C, 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne), 1st Special Forces, Vietnam; Assistant S-3, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 6th Special Forces Group (Airborne), 1st Special Forces, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Company Commander, A Company, 4th Battalion, 31st Infantry, Americal Division, Vietnam; Assistant S-3, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 196th Light Infantry Brigade; and Commander, Military Police Activity and Provost Marshal, U.S. Army Infantry Center, Fort Benning, Georgia.
