JACK H. FARLEY
Description
Lieutenant Colonel Jack H. Farley joined the 76th Infantry Division as a Platoon Leader at Fort Meade, Maryland, in 1942 and served with this unit in the European Theater of Operations. He was promoted to Captain in 1945. Lieutenant Colonel Farley was on inactive status for two years and was recalled to active duty in 1948. He was assigned as a staff officer with the 5th Infantry Division, Fort Jackson, South Carolina and in 1949 attended the Infantry Officers Associate Advanced Course, Fort Benning, Georgia. | Lieutenant Colonel Farley served as a Company Commander and Battalion Executive Officer with the 351st Infantry, TRUST, Trieste, Italy, 1950-1952. He attained the rank of Major in 1951. Lieutenant Colonel Farley served as a Regimental Advisor, 39th Infantry Division ARNG, Little Rock, Arkansas, 1953-1955. Upon graduating from the Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, in 1956, he served as a staff officer with the G3 Section, Headquarters Eighth United States Army, Korea. In 1958, Lieutenant Colonel Farley was assigned to the Office Deputy Chief of Staff for Military Operations, Department of the Army and served as a Staff Officer to 1961. | Lieutenant Colonel Farley’s awards and decorations include: the Bronze Star Medal w/ Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Ribbon w/ Metal Pendant and the Combat Infantryman Badge.
