His first duty assignment was as an Executive Officer, Detachment A-2, 1'` Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. | His subsequent commands included: Commander, Detachment A-2, l Special Forces Group, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Intelligence Officer, and later served as an Operations Officer, 5th Special Forces Group, Vietnam; Company Commander, 121th Battalion, 3rd Advanced Individual Training Brigade, Fort Jackson, South Carolina; Company Operations Officer, and later the Headquarters Company Commander, 101st Airborne Division, Vietnam; Operations Officer, Fort Rucker, Alabama; Area Commander, Army Recruiting Command, Jackson, Mississippi; Brigade Adjutant, and later the B Company Attack Helicopter Commander, 31-11 Armored Division, Germany; Inspector General, Department of the Army, Pentagon, Virginia; Military Assistant and Aide to the Secretary of the Army, Pentagon, Virginia; Inspector General, and later a Battalion Commander, 2nd Armored Division, Fort Hood, Texas; Chief Aviation Branch, Personnel Command, Alexandria, Virginia; Personnel Staff Officer, Joint Staff, Pentagon, Virginia; Brigade Commander, 91h Infantry Division, Fort Lewis, Washington.
