Description
First Lieutenant Andrew R. LePeilbet is a U.S. Army Veteran, having commanded an infantry platoon of the 1st Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division (Air Mobile) in Vietnam 1968-69. Returning home in 1969 he continued as a Nevada resident and taxpayer (since April 1968) and still owns the original acreage he purchased in Elko in 1968. He has since served as Branch Manager, District Manager, Regional Director, and eventually Vice President - US Field Operations and finally directed International Operations for a worldwide corporation. Leaving corporate life some sixteen years ago, Andy began yet another career as a local realtor which he continues today.
1LT LePeilbet identifies as a Family Man, Combat Veteran, Corporate Executive, and Rodeo Cowboy and he has done very well in all his endeavors. He is the recipient of numerous military awards and decorations including the Distinguished Service Cross (Extraordinary Heroism); Silver Star (2) (Gallantry in Action); Bronze Star; Purple Heart; Air Medal; Army Commendation Medal; Combat Infantryman's Badge (CIB); and Jungle Expert's Badge.
As a member, activist, and officer in numerous Veterans organizations, Andy has contributed to the advocacy and welfare of veterans throughout the state. He is a Life Member of Disabled American Veterans - Reno Chapter 1 and serves as Chapter Treasurer; American Legion - Reno Post 1; VFW Post 8071, Virginia City - Life Member; Vietnam Veterans of America - Sierra Nevada Chapter 989 - Legislative Officer and Life Member; Association of the United States Army - Reno Chapter, Life Member; Military Order of the Purple Heart - Reno Chapter 719 Life Member serving as the current Nevada and Chapter Adjutant, Legislative Officer, and is a Past Chapter Commander and Past Nevada State Commander, 2013-2016. He also serves on the United Veterans Legislative Council (UVLC) as an active member since 2013 and is the Current State Chair. He was also a member of the Northern Nevada Veterans Home Advisory Board 2019-2020.
