Description

Colonel Kenneth R. Nance began his military service as an enlisted soldier with the 1/108 Armored Calvary Regiment, Ripley, Mississippi, Mississippi Army National Guard. He served as a Tank Crewman during his five enlisted years, serving in various Tank Crewman positions. He then attended the U.S. Army Officer Candidate School, Fort Benning, Georgia, and upon graduation, was commissioned as an Engineer Officer.

His subsequent staff and command duty assignments include: BN Construction Engineer, BN S1, 223rd Engineer Battalion (Combat Heavy); Assistant S3 168th Engineer Group; Environmental Officer, State of Mississippi Joint Forces Headquarters; Post Engineer, Regional Training Site McCain; Railways Engineer, 412 Theater Engineer Command; BN Se and BN XO, 3/346 Infantry Regiment; ACOS (Sustainment), U.S. Army Engineering & SPT Center CED; Deputy Chief of Staff, Transatlantic Division; Detachment Commander, 223 EN BN – Det. 1/Co C; Company Commander 223 EN BN - Charlie Company; Battalion Commander, 844 EN BN; Deputy Commander (Forward), TAD; Deputy Commander, AED.

COL Nance's deployments include: COL Nance is a graduate of Engineer Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, U.S. Army Master Fitness Trainer Course, Combined Arms and Services Staff School, Command and General Staff College (ILE-CC) and Air Assault School. He holds a Bachelor's degree from Western Illinois University in fields of study of Business Administration and Civil Engineering Technology, as well as a Master's in Business Administration Specializing in Management of Engineering. He also holds Professional Certifications as a Project Management Professional and Acquisition Corps- Advanced Facilities Engineer.

His awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal w/Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Medal w/Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Achievement Medal, and various other military decorations including the Engineer Regiment’s Bronze and Silver de Fleury Medals.
