Colonel Gregory Randal Bell was commissioned as an Infantry Officer upon graduation from Infantry Officer Candidate School Class 1-93 at Fort Benning, Georgia, 28 January 1993. He reported to his first duty assignment as Platoon Leader, A Company, 1st Battalion, 6th Infantry Regiment.
His subsequent duty assignments include: Executive Officer, D Company 1-6th IN Battalion; Executive Officer and BMO HHC 2-2 IN; Brigade S3 Air, 3rd IBCT, 101st Air Assault Division; Commander, A Co, 1-187th Infantry Brigade; OC JRTC; Operational Advisor, OPM-SANG, Saudi Arabia National Guard; Deputy Chief of OPS, 101st Air Assault Division, Battalion S3 2/502d IN Battalion; Brigade S3 Operations Officer, 2/502 IN Brigade; Lead Global Force Manager (GFM) US Africa Command (Earned Field grade of the year award); Commander, 3rd Battalion, 7th Infantry Regiment; NWC Student and Faculty, US Naval War College; Director, TRADOC Capability Manager- Infantry (TCM-IBCT); Director, Soldier Requirements Division (SRD); Chief of Staff for the Soldier Lethality Cross Functional Team (SL SFT). Colonel Bell retired 01 October 2022.
