Colonel Gerald Armand DiGrezio was commissioned as an Infantry Officer upon graduation from Infantry Officer Candidate School Class 509-68 at Fort Benning, Georgia, 5 August 1968. Following IOBC, he reported to his first duty assignment as Administrative Officer, Co M, Aviation Maintenance Battalion, Hunter Army Airfield.

His subsequent duty assignments include: Fixed Wing Aviator, US Army Garrison, Moore Army Airfield; Section Leader, Flight Section, 10th SFG (ABN); Fixed Wing Aviator, 220th Recon Airplane Co; S3, 220th Recon Airplane Co; Aviation Platoon Leader, 10th SFG (ABN); Assistant Aviation Officer, Aviation Exercise Team, 76th Division (Maneuver Training Command); Umpire/Controller, Aviation Exercise Team, 76th Division; Assistant Team Chief, Aviation Exercise Team, 76th Division; Team Chief, Medical Exercise Team, 76th Division; Executive Officer, 1st Brigade, 76th Division (Training); Battalion Commander, 1st Battalion, 417th Infantry Regiment, 76th Division; Battalion Commander, 3rd Battalion, 304th Infantry Regiment, 76th Division; Battalion Commander/Airfield Commander, 4th Battalion, 158th Aviation Regiment; Information Management General Staff Officer, 94th Regional Support Command.

His military education and training consists of: US Army Fixed Wing Center, US Army Aviation School, and the Command and General Staff College.
