Description
Colonel David Leon Hall was commissioned as a Military Intelligence Officer upon graduation from Officer Candidate School class 8-01 (Distinguished Honor Graduate and Leadership Award Recipient) at Fort Benning, Georgia on 20 December 2001. His first duty assignment was as a Battalion Intelligence Officer, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 72nd Armor Regiment, Camp Casey, South Korea.
His subsequent duty assignments were: Platoon Leader, Bravo Company, 102d Military Intelligence Battalion, Camp Essayons, South Korea; Company Executive Officer, Military Intelligence Company, 4th Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, Baghdad, Iraq; BN S2 Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 6th Squadron, 8th Cavalry Regiment, Baghdad, Iraq; Company Commander and Instructor, Charlie Company 1st Battalion, 11th Infantry Regiment (Officer Candidate School), Fort Benning, Georgia; Brigade Deputy Operations Officer, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baghdad, Iraq; MI Captains Assignment Officer, U.S. Army Human Resources Command, Alexandria, Virginia; Joint Staff/J2 Chief of Regional Operations; Joint Staff/J2 Chief of Plans and Exercise for Pacific Command, Joint Staff Intelligence, Pentagon; Assistant Professor and Department Chair for Defense Intelligence, National Intelligence University, Bethesda, Maryland; Assistant Professor, Joint and Combined Warfighting School, Norfolk, Virginia; National Security Affairs Fellow, Stanford University- Hoover Institution; Deputy Director, Capstone, Fort McNair, Washington D.C.
Colonel Hall retired after 34 years of service in December 2024 and now resides with his wife, Kannary, and son Cameron in Virginia Beach, VA.
