Colonel Christopher R. Forsythe was commissioned a Finance Officer up graduation from Officer Candidate School Class 01-94 on 27 January 1994.  His first duty assignment was S4, Disbursing Officer, HHD Commander, 24^th Finance Battalion, Fort Stewart, Georgia.

His subsequent duty assignments were: Group Comptroller, 3d Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Bragg, North Carolina; C Company Commander, 82nd Soldier Support Battalion (Airborne), Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Company Tactical Officer (E-2)/XO to the Commandant of Cadets, United States Military Academy, West Point, New York; Commander, 82nd Financial Management Company, OIF/Fort Bragg, North Carolina; G8/Comptroller, U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Commander, Columbia Recruiting Battalion, Fort Jackson, South Carolina; Director-South, Chairman's Office of Reintegration, Washington, DC; Director, 18th Financial Management Support Center, OIR/Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Comptroller, U.S. Army Special Operations Command, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; and Executive Officer, Assistant Secretary of the Army (Financial Management & Comptroller), Washington, DC. At the time of his induction into the Hall of Fame, COL Forsythe was serving as Executive Officer, Assistant Secretary of the Army (Financial Management and Comptroller) Pentagon, Washington DC.
