Colonel Charles R Rhyne was commissioned an Infantry Officer upon graduation from Officer Candidate School Class 4-65, 19 April 1965. His first duty assignment after Airborne School was as Post Reenlistment Officer at Fort Jackson, South Carolina.

COL Rhyne retired from the U.S. Army Reserve in 1993. Colonel Rhyne retired from USAR in 1993. His civilian career includes two years as Director of Personnel for WR Grace Company, Duncan South Carolina and seven years as a sales rep for another company before starting his own Sales and Service Company, WTMC Inc., in 1984.
