Colonel Alan V. Davis was commissioned an Infantry Officer upon graduation from Officer Candidate School on 8 August 1969. His first duty assignment was as Training Officer, Company C, 5th Battalion, 2d Brigade, Fort Lewis, Washington. | His subsequent duty assignments include: Assistant Mobile Team Advisor, Team 41, MALV, Republic of Vietnam; Commander, Company D, 1/414 Battalion, 1st Brigade, 104th Division Salem, Oregon; Assistant S-2/S-3, 1st Brigade, 104th Division, VanCoover, Washington; Assistant G-3, 104th Division, VanCoover, Washington; Assistant G-3, 78th Division, Edison, New Jersey; Deputy G-3, 78th Division, Edison, New Jersey; Commander, 2/311th Battalion, 4th Brigade, 78th Division, Edison, New Jersey; Assistant Chief of Staff, 79th Army Reserve Command Willow Grove, Pennsylvania; Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff Operations, 79th Max Reserve Command, Willow Grove, Pennsylvania; Deputy Chief of Staff Operations, 79th Army Reserve Command, Willow Grove, Pennsylvania. He was serving as Commander, 1079th United States Army Garrison Support Unit, Fort Indian Town Gap, Pennsylvania. at the time of his unduction into the Hall of Fame.
