Brigadier General Curry was commissioned as an Infantry Officer upon graduation from Officer Candidate School, 13 March 1970. He was first assigned to the 503rd Supply and Transport Battalion of the 3rd Armored Division, Frankfurt, Germany where he began as a truck platoon leader then served as the Battalion S-4 then HHC Commander and Motor Transport Company Commander. | His subsequent assignments include; S-1/Headquarters Detachment Commander, 227th Maintenance Battalion, Yongson, Korea; Deputy ACOFS Personnel 593rd Area Support Group, and then Division Transportation Officer 9th Infantry Division, Fort Lewis, Washington; Professional Development Officer, and Transportation Majors Assignment Officer and later, Executive Officer to the Director, Officer Personnel Management, Military Personnel Center, Alexandria, Virginia; Commander 28th Transportation Battalion, Manheim, Germany; Deputy G-4 I Corps then G-4 9th Infantry Division (Motorized), Fort Lewis, Washington; Director International Traffic, Western Area Military Traffic Management Command, Oakland, California; ACOFS Logistics, 21st TAACOM then Commander 37th Transportation Command, Kaiserslatem, Germany; Deputy Director Logistics J4, United States Transportation Command, Scott Air force Base, Illinois. | Brigadier General Curry culminated his carrier as Director, Plans, Operations and Logistics Automation, Office of the DCSLOG, Department of the Army from 6 November 1998 until 31 December 2000.
