Colonel Donald M. Kington was commissioned an Infantry Officer upon graduation from Officer Candidate School, Class 8-52, 3 March 1952. His first duty assignment was as Assistant S-4, 53d Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, Camp Breckinridge, Kentucky. Colonel Kington served with the 100th Division (Training) in the U.S. Army Reserves for eight years as a Staff Officer.
