The Honorable Dr. Thomas D. Conrad, PhD was commissioned an Infantry Officer upon graduation from Officer Candidate School, Class 8-52, 3 March 1952. His first duty assignment was as Platoon Leader, 47th Infantry Division, Camp Rucker, Alabama. | His subsequent duty assignments include: Platoon Leader, A Company, 12th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division, Gelnhausen, Germany; Athletic & Recreation Officer, 4th Infantry Division, Frankfurt, Germany; Supply Officer, 66th CIC, Offenbach, Germany; Assistant Adjutant General, Military District of Washington, D.C. | Following active duty in 1957, Dr. Conrad received his doctorate from the American University and taught at several universities; he founded the Military Benefit Association; maintained a seat on the Philadelphia-Baltimore-Washington Stock Exchange; became a prominent cattle breeder; graduated the Army Aviation School (age 49); and served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force under President Reagan. | As a commercial, multi-engine instrument rated pilot (4000 hours), Dr. Conrad owns and flies a Citation Jet. He founded and served as Executive Director, Government Employees Association.
