Colonel Jerry W. Grizzle enlisted in the Oklahoma Army National Guard on 25 August 1971. He graduated from Infantry Officer Candidate School, Fort Benning, Georgia, on 14 August 1972 and was commissioned an Infantry Officer the same day.
