Major General Thomas J. Flynn, a native of Addison, New York, received his commission through OCS, Fort Benning, Georgia, in May 1954. General Flynn is a graduate of the Military Intelligence Advance Course, Fort Devens, the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, and the Air War College, Maxwell Air Force Base. He holds a BA degree in biology from St. Michael’s College, University of Toronto. | Foreign service tours include assignments in Vietnam, Japan and Germany. Other overseas assignments were in Alaska and Hawaii. He has served with the U.S. Pacific Command; served as commander, 175th Radio Research Field Station; and as operations officer, deputy commander and commander, U.S. Army Field Station Augsburg. Other assignments include military secretary for Communications and Electronics Directorate (J6) Organization, Joint Chiefs of Staff; and as executive to the Assistant Chief of Staff for Intelligence, DA. | His military awards and decoration include: the Army Commendation Medal w/ Oak Leaf Cluster, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, The Bronze Star Medal and the Legion of Merit w/ 3 Oak Leaf Clusters.
