Description
Colonel Rafael Montilla served with the 304th Regiment, 7th Infantry Division as a Platoon Leader, subsequently he attended Military Intelligence School and was assigned to the War Department, General Staff, G2 Section during the remainder of World War II. | His subsequent duty assignments include: Battalion Commander, Regimental Executive Officer and Acting Commanding Officer, 4th Regimental Combat Team, Alaska; Assistant Professor of Military Science and Tactics and Professor of Military Science and Tactics, University of Puerto Rico; Division Advisor, 79th Infantry Division (USAR). | Colonel Montilla’s awards and decorations include: the Legion of Merit, The Army Commendation Ribbon, Order of the Aztec Eagle from Mexico, The Military Order of Ayacucho from Peru, The Distinguished Service Medal from Cuba and the Order al Merito Militar from Brazil. | Colonel Montilla is a graduate of Advanced Officer Course, Infantry School, the Airborne School and the Command and General Staff College.
