WASHINGTON C. CARTER
Description
Lieutenant Colonel Washington C. Carter rose during World War II from Platoon Leader to Battalion Executive Officer with the 133d Infantry Regiment in Italy and later served as a Battalion Commander with the 6th Training Regiment, Fort McClellan, Alabama. Lieutenant Colonel Carter is a graduate of the Command and General Staff College and the Armed Forces Staff College. He served as Regimental Commander of the 224th Infantry Regiment in Korea. Some of Lieutenant Colonel Carter’s other assignments include duty as Officer-in-Charge of Army Housing Division, Yokohama, Japan; Member of the Office of Inspector General, Department of the Army; G3 Section, Headquarters Eighth U.S. Army, Korea; and G3 Section, Headquarters U.S. Continental Army Command. | Lieutenant Colonel Carter’s decorations include the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Parachutist Badge and the Legion of Merit.
