Distinguished and Honorary Members of the 11th Infantry Regiment
The Army Regimental System is governed by Army Regulation 600-82. The OCS Program since 1989 has been the mission of the 3rd Battalion 11th Infantry and the 11th Commander or the 199th Infantry Brigade Commander have been the Army’s Proponent. In 2016 under the direction of COL (R) Frank Harman, USAOCSAA began a process to use the Army Regimental System to honor OCS Alumni and OCS Cadre that have through service and support to the Country, the Army, the Infantry and the OCS Program distinguished themselves. OCS Alumni and OCS Cadre selected as DMORs and HMORS are also awarded the Order of ST Maurice.
The ORDER OF SAINT MAURICE
The Order of Saint Maurice is awarded by the National Infantry Association and the Chief of Infantry. This is to recognize the significant contributions made by Infantrymen and Infantry supporters. A nominee for the Order of Saint Maurice must have served the Infantry community with distinction; must have demonstrated a significant contribution in support of the Infantry; and must represent the highest standards of integrity, moral character, professional competence, and dedication to duty.
Honorary Colonel of the Regiment (HCOR)
HCOR Description
• The HCOR is a distinguished retired commissioned officer in the rank of colonel or above, with former service in a unit of the regiment.
• Each regiment will have an HCOR but only one HCOR will serve in the regiment at any given time. Additionally, no one officer can
serve as HCOR for more than one regiment or corps simultaneously. The HCOR oversees other honorary position programs and their maintenance. The HCOR may also act as a liaison between his or her regiment or corps and a regimental or corps association (private organization) if one exists.
• The duties of a HCOR are ceremonial and do not conflict with the chain of command. Attendance at regimental or corps functions is by invitation and participation is encouraged.
• The position offers to the regiment or corps the prestige, stature, and experience of the officer appointed as HCOR. The HCOR assists in fostering regimental or corps esprit, traditions, and perpetuation of the history of the regiment or corps.
• HCOR appointees will be appointed as Distinguished Members of the regiment or corps simultaneously with their appointment as HCOR.

Distinguished Members of the Regiment (DMOR)
DMOR Description
• DMORs are individuals of the same distinguished stature as the HCOR but may include Active Army, USAR, retired officers, warrant officers, enlisted soldiers, and civilians.
• An example of a DMOR would be a prior enlisted soldier of the regiment or corps recognized for his or her accomplishments, or a distinguished member of the civilian community with former service in the regiment or corps. All DMORs must have served in the regiment or corps.
• DMORs are appointed to supplement and assist the efforts of the HCORs. Their tenure is indefinite. Unlike the solitary appointment of other honorary positions, there are no limitations on the number of personnel who may be appointed as DMORs
• The duties of DMORs are ceremonial and do not conflict with those of the chain of command. Attendance at regimental or corps functions is by invitation and participation is encouraged.
• The position offers the prestige, stature, and experience of the individual appointed as a DMOR.
• Posthumous awards of the DMORs are permissible and are at the discretion of the regiment.

Honorary Members of the Regiment (HMOR)
HMOR Description
• HMORs are soldiers, their spouses, and individuals who have made a contribution or provided a service to a regiment or corps, but who are not members of the regiment or corps making the presentation. Recognition of Active Army, USAR, or retired soldiers and civilians is appropriate.
• HMORs are appointed for an indefinite period of time in recognition of their contributions and service to the regiment or corps. There are no limitations on the number of personnel who may be appointed as HMOR.
• There are no duties associated with the HMOR appointments. Their attendance at regimental or corps functions is by invitation and participation is encouraged.

Nomination, selection, and appointment to honorary or distinguished positions
• The responsibility of consolidating nominations of individuals for the HCOR. DMOR and HMOR rests with the Active Army commander charged with the regimental responsibilities. Nominations will be forwarded to the Chief of Infantry.
• The ultimate decision for selection and responsibility for appointment of an individual to serve as an HCOR, DMOR and
HMOR or HMOC rests with the Chief of Infantry.
• Nominations may be solicited from several sources (regimental associations, Active Army commanders, incumbent Honorary Colonels or Sergeants Major, Distinguished Members of the Regiment, and others).
• The Chief of Infantry will provide signed appointment certificates which will provide visibility and allow
tracking of the Honorary Colonels or Sergeants Major and Warrant Officers.
