Colonel Leonard A. Leassear was commissioned as an Ordnance Officer upon graduation from Officer Candidate School Class 01-66, 13 June 1966. | His duty assignments include: Platoon Leader and Company Commander, Republic of South Korea from 1967-68; Company Commander 79th Maintenance Battalion, Long Binh, Vietnam from 1971-72; Secretary of the General Staff, U.S. Army Materiel and Readiness Command, Alexandria, Virginia from 1976-79; U.S. Army Inspector General Agency, Washington, D.C. from 1981-82; 702nd Maintenance Battalion Commander, U.S. Army 2nd Division, Camp Casey, South Korea from 1981-82; Chief of Surveillance Division, U.S. Army Materiel Command, Alexandria, Virginia from 1984-85; Division Support Command Commander, U.S. Army Headquarters, Camp Casey, South Korea from 1985-86; Director of Maintenance, Tank and Automotive Command, Warren, Michigan from 1986-88. From 1988 to his retirement in 1990, Colonel Leassear served as the Logistics Division Chief at the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Washington D.C. | Following his retirement from the military, he joined a logistics system engineering firm, Innovative Logistics Techniques (Innolog), in Reston, Virginia, as a Program Manager.
