Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) Cory Roberts

DIRECTOR

Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) Cory Roberts is a native of Clyde, Texas and enlisted in the US Army as an Infantryman in December of 1993.  He commissioned as an Infantry Officer in April 2002 through US Army Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning, GA following eight years of enlisted service as an Infantryman. LTC Roberts graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Baccalaureate Degree in Criminal Justice from Columbus State University and continued his education by receiving his Graduate Degree in Leadership and Management from Webster University in St. Louis, MO.  Additionally, he is a graduate of the US Army

Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, KS. During his 29+yrs of Military Service, LTC Roberts has served in leadership positions from the Platoon through the Battalion and Squadron level.

 

LTC Roberts final active-duty assignment was as a Senior Military Analyst for the DoD Close Combat Lethality Task Force.  In 2022, he completed 24 months of Battalion Command for 1st Battalion 19th Infantry Regiment where he led an organization responsible for all US Army Mortar Training and the education/training of both male and female 11B and 11C Infantry Soldiers.  Prior to selection for Battalion Command, LTC Roberts led an ROTC Battalion for three years as the Professor of Military Science for Jacksonville State University. In 2016 he served as the Operations Officer for the US Army’s Joint Modernization Command Training and Evaluation Division at Fort Bliss, TX where his team focused on developing systems and tactics for the Army 2035 and beyond concepts. Some of LTC Roberts’ assignments include: 4th Infantry Division, 2nd Infantry Division, 3rd Infantry Division, 101st Airborne Division, 1st Infantry Division, and the 1st Cavalry Division. LTC Roberts also served at an instructor at the US Army Engineer Captain’s Career Course and subsequently oversaw curriculum and faculty development at the School of

Advanced Leadership and Tactics. In 2012, LTC Roberts aided in the design, establishment, and instruction of the first ever US Army Special Operations Captain’s Career Course at Fort Bragg, NC. LTC Roberts served three combat tours to Operation Iraqi Freedom and multiple operational assignments to Kuwait, Kosovo, and Korea.

 

LTC Roberts’ awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (4th Oak Leaf Cluster), ARCOM (8th Oak Leaf Cluster), and Army Achievement

Medal (6th Oak Leaf Cluster). LTC Roberts also earned the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Expert Infantry Badge, Ranger Tab, Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, Pathfinder Badge and the Senior Army Instructor Badge.

LTC Roberts joined the US Army OCS Alumni Association Board of Directors in 2020 and is currently serving as the Secretary of the Board.  LTC Roberts will retire in October 2023 and transition to a consultant role with Booz Allen Hamilton to continue pursuing systems and initiatives that enhance the lethality of close

combat forces across the joint force.
