MAJ (Retired) David D. Chamberlain

Professional Summary: MAJ (Retired) David D. Chamberlain was commissioned through Officer Candidate School Class 508-04. He has deployed in support of Operation Desert Shield/Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Inherent Resolve, and the Multi-National Force and Observers. He retired from the United States Army in 2023 after 35 years of distinguished service in Williamsburg, Virginia. In retirement, he actively volunteers with a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), travels internationally, and develops small business ventures with his fiancée, Chief Master Sergeant (Retired) Deannie Foster.

Background: MAJ Chamberlain enlisted in August 1988 and attended One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Harmony Church, Fort Benning, Georgia. He served 16 years as an enlisted soldier, progressing from

Private to Sergeant First Class. His roles included Anti-Armor Specialist, Radio-Telephone Operator, Training NCO, POL Section Leader, Team Leader, Protocol and Liaison Officer, Squad Leader, and Ranger Instructor. During this period, he was assigned to the 1st Infantry Division, 7th Army Training Command, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), and the Ranger Training Brigade.

Commissioned Service: Following his commissioning, MAJ Chamberlain served as a Platoon Leader and Company Executive Officer for the 1st Battalion, 501st Infantry, 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division at Fort Richardson, Alaska. He led as Company and Battalion Rear Detachment Commander for the 2nd Battalion, 14th Infantry, 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, New York.

MAJ Chamberlain contributed to the Army’s Reserve Component as Observer, Coach-Trainer Team

Chief, Operations Officer, and Executive Officer with the 188th Infantry Brigade at Fort Stewart, Georgia. He served as the Executive Officer for the 5th Ranger Training Battalion, Airborne and Ranger Training Brigade at Camp Frank D. Merrill in Dahlonega, Georgia. MAJ Chamberlain returned to the operational force as Battle Major and Readiness Assessment Team Chief, III Armored Corps at Fort Hood, Texas. In his final duty assignment, he oversaw training and resource management (TTPEG) for TRADOC at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, VA.
