He completed Airborne School and was assigned as a Tactical Officer and Executive Officer, 51st Company, 5th Student Battalion. | His duty assignments included the 101st Airborne Division-Vietnam, 10th Special Forces Group, 172nd Light Infantry Brigade-Alaska, 902nd MI Group, Military Personnel Center-MILPERCEN, Defense Intelligence Agency, Professor of Military Science-Methodist University, Commander, 306th MI Battalion, Combined Field Army-Korea and Commander, Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania. He retired from the U.S. Army in 1994. | His military training included the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center, earning the Green Beret, and concluded with graduation as Class President of the U.S. Army War College, 1993. | His awards include the Combat Infantryman Badge, Legion of Merit w/ Oak Leaf Cluster, Bronze Star with Valor w/ Oak Leaf Cluster, Purple Heart, Meritorious Service Medal w/ 3 Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation w/ V, Defense Meritorious Service, Parachutist and Special Forces Tab.
