Colonel Price enlisted in the U.S. Army in November 1959, completed basic training at Fort Dix, New Jersey and the 3rd Army NCO Academy at Fort Bragg, NC. He was commissioned from OCS at Fort Benning in June 1961. His initial assignment was to Fort Jackson, SC as a Trainfire Instructor with the 2d Bde. | In 1963 he was assigned to MACV as an advisor at the ARVN Training Center at Duc My and then as an advisor with the 35th Territorial Regiment in Saigon. From Vietnam Colonel Price was assigned to the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, KY where he helped prepare and present the pre-RVN deployment training for the 1st Brigade. Captain Price redeployed to RVN in 1965 with the 1st Brigade as Company Commander, B Company, 2d Bn, 327th Inf. COL Price’s additional assignments included 5 years at the Pentagon as Program Budget officer for the Assistant Chief of Staff for Intelligence: Executive Officer to the Comptroller of DARCOM; Commander 4th Bn, 10th Inf and Fort Davis, Panama Canal Zone; Comptroller, Fort Polk, LA and Chief of the Program Budget Office for the DCSOPS, FORSCOM, at Fort McPherson, GA. | COL Price is a graduate of the Professional Military Comptroller Course, Air War College, Navy Defense Management System Course, Command and Staff College, Infantry Officer Advanced Course and holds a bachelors degree from St. Mary’s University, San Antonio, Texas and a master’s degree from Syracuse University. | His Awards and Ddecorations include: Silver Star, Bronze Star Medal w/V device w/ 2 Oak Leaf Cluster, Meritorious Service Medal w/3 Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Medal w/1 Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Medal w/1 Oak Leaf Cluster, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/6 Oak Leaf Cluster, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry w/1 Oak Leaf Cluster, Presidential Unit Citation, Valorous Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Citation, Combat Infantryman Badge, Expert Infantryman Badge, Parachutist Badge, Army Staff Identification Badge and Vietnam Parachute Badge. | In 2005 Colonel Price retired from Georgia Military College as the Director of the Union City, GA campus.
