Warn was commissioned an Infantry Officer upon graduation from Officer Candidate School Class 3, 21 April 1943. His first duty assignment was as a Platoon Leader, Company D, 51st Training Battalion, 11th Training Regiment, Camp Fannin Training Center, Tyler, Texas. | His subsequent duty assignments include: Platoon Leader, Company K, 303d Infantry Regiment 97th Infantry Division, Fort Dix, New Jersey; Executive Officer, Company K, Japan; Company Commander, Company K, 303rd Infantry Regiment, 97th Infantry Division, Japan; Preceptor for Senior Medical Students, Medical School and School of Nursing, University of Missouri, Kansas City, Missouri; Municipal Judge, City of Goodman, Missouri; Chief of Surgery and Medical Director, Barry County Hospital, Cassville, Missouri. | At the time of his induction, Dr. Warn was employed as Medical Director and Physician at Barry County Health Unit.
