Colonel Jack R. McMills was commissioned an Infantry Officer upon graduating from Officer Candidate School Class 26, 5 Sept 1952. His first duty assignment was Platoon Leader, C Company, 123rd Infantry Regiment, 44th Infantry Division, Camp Cooke, California. | His subsequent duty assignments include: Platoon Leader, H Company, 32nd Infantry Regiment 7th Infantry Division, Korea; Recon Officer (XO) H Company, 32nd Infantry Regiment 7th Infantry Division, Korea; Executive Officer, 362nd Infantry Regiment 91st Infantry Division, San Francisco, California; Company Commander, A Company 363rd Infantry Regiment 91st Infantry Division, San Carlos, California; Battalion S-3, 1st Battallion 363rd Infantry Regiment, 91st Infantry Division, Mt. View, California; Regimental S-2, 91st Regiment (AIT), 91st Division (Training), San Francisco, California; Battalion Executive Officer, 3rd Battalion 91st Regiment (AIT), 91st Division (Training), San Jose, California; Battalion Commander, 3rd Battalion 91st Regiment (AIT), 91st Division (Training), San Jose, California; Admission Officer, United States Military Academy, West Point, New York (assigned to Northern California); Liaison Officer-GS, Federal Preparedness Agency, Headquarters Sixth U.S. Army, San Francisco, Callifornia; Instructor, School of Logistics Science, Fort Lee, Virginia. | Colonel McMills also served as President and CEO of Willow Mutual Water Company, Inc., Willows California. He retired as Chief Deputy, Trinity County Sheriff’s Department, Weaverville, California. He rose from Deputy Sheriff to Chief Deputy, which is the highest civil service rank in the department.
