His first duty assignment upon commissioning was as Operations Officer, 1st Ordnance Company, 5th Ordnance Battalion, Fort Chaffee, AK. | His subsequent assignments include: Commander, Adjutant General Detachment, Fort Sill, OK; Shop Officer, Germany; Battalion S2/S3, Germany; Battalion S4, Germany; Battalion Commander, Bamberg, Germany; Brigade Liason/Assistant S4, Bamberg, Germany; Ordnance Maintenance Officer, Republic of Vietnam; Plans and Policy Officer, Republic of Vietnam;  Instructor, Maintenance Management Officers Course, Fort Knox, KY; S4, Fort Riley, KS; Battalion Materiel Officer, Fort Riley, KS; Logistics Staff Officer, Pentagon; and Battalion Commander, Hanau, Germany. | Colonel Whitehouse is currently serving as Commander, Lexington Bluegrass Army Depot, Lexington, KY. | Colonel Whitehouse is a graduate of the Infantry Officer Basic Course, Ordnance Officer Basic Course, Army Maintenance Repair Officer Course, Ordnance Officer Advanced Course and Command and General Staff College. | His military awards and decorations include: Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal w/1 Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Medal w/2 Oak Leaf Cluster, Meritorious Unit Citation, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Service Medal (3rd Award), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross w/Palm Unit Citation, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.
