He earned a Master of Science Degree in Public Administration from Shippensburg University, Shippensburg, Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Central Missouri State University, Warrensburg, Missouri. | His military awards include the Distinguished Service Cross, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart (three awards), Meritorious Service Medal (five awards), Army Commendation Medal (three awards), and other service and campaign awards.
