Colonel Dennis P. Vasey graduated from Officer Candidate School Class 2-65 on 15 February 1965. His first duty assignment was as Aircraft Maintenance Officer, 801st Maintenance Battalion, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, KY. | His subsequent duty assignments include: Adjutant/Commander, HHC, 801st Maintenance Battalion, Vietnam; Aircraft Maintenance Officer, 34th General Support Group, Vietnam, Aircraft Maintenance Officer, A Company, 101st Airborne Division, Vietnam; Chief, Configuration Management Division, Aviation Support Command, St. Louis, MO; Commander, 568th Transportation Division, Fort Wainwright, AR; S3, 222nd Aviation Battalion, Fort Wainwright, AK; Personnel Management Officer, Milpercen, Alexandria, VA; Aviation Logistics Officer, Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, Washington, D.C.; Commander, 205th Transportation Battalion, Langendiebach, Germany. Colonel Vasey is currently the Director of Personnel and Community Activities, U.S. Army Aviation Center, Fort Rucker, AL. | Colonel Vasey’s military education includes the following: Airborne, Flight School, Transportation Officer Advanced Course, Command and General Staff College, and the Senior Staff College. | Colonel Vasey has a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Nebraska, as well as a Master’s Degree in Human Relations from Pepperdine University. | Colonel Vasey has been awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal w/2 Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Medal w/10 Numeral, Joint Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal w/2 Oak Leaf Cluster, Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal w/2 Knot Bar, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/8 Stars, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon w/4 Numeral, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 Numeral.
