Albert D. Neely

Colonel Albert D. Neely was commissioned upon graduation from Officer Candidate School Class 11-52, 14 April 1952. His first duty assignment was as a TAC Officer, 11th Company, 1st Officer Candidate (OC) Regiment, Fort Benning, Georgia. | His subsequent duty assignments include: Executive Officer, 14th Company, 1st OC Regiment, Fort Benning, Georgia; Company Commander, 1st Battalion, 32d Infantry, 7th Infantry Division, Korea; Instructor, Platoon Tactics, U.S. Army Infantry School, Fort Benning, Georgia; Order of Battle Officer and Area Intel Officer, 513th Military Intelligence (MI) Group, Germany; S3 and Executive Officer, 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Kentucky; Senior Advisor, U.S. Army MACV, 9th ARepublic of Vietnam Regiment, 5th ARepublic of Vietnam Division, Vietnam; Project Officer, Airborne/Infantry Doctrine, U.S. Army Combat Development Command (CD.C), Combat Arms Group, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas; Battalion Commander, 1st Battalion, 47th Infantry, 171st Infantry Brigade, Fort Wainwright, Alaska; Post Commander, Headquarters, Fort Wainwright, Alaska; Battalion Commander, 1st Battalion, 11th Infantry, 1st Infantry Brigade, 5th Mech, Vietnam. Colonel Neely also served as Chief, Associate Arms Division, U.S. Army Field Artillery School, Tactics and Combined Arms Department, Fort Sill, Oklahoma, prior to his retirement.
